Position Description:

Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position in Canon Law to begin in the fall semester of 2018. Applicants must have earned at least the ecclesiastical license in canon law (JCL); a doctoral degree is preferred (JCD). Applicants must be prepared to teach the whole canon law curriculum in a seminary setting, as well as an introductory course in our Permanent Diaconate Formation Program. Applicants must be willing to seek and able to receive the episcopal mandatum in the Archdiocese of Denver, as well as the nihil obstat from the Congregation for Catholic Education, by making the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity. Successful teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred. Dedication to the intellectual formation of seminarians is required. Rank and salary will be commensurate with other similar institutions and will be specifically negotiated at the time of hiring in accord with the Faculty Handbook. SJV is a non-tenure institution.
