Overview and Responsibilities

Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is seeking a Faculty member in Finance and Economics who is eager to contribute to its Lasallian Catholic mission of awakening, nurturing, and empowering learners to ethical lives of service and leadership. The Business and Communication Department strives to bring this mission to life through getting to know our students as individuals, embedding service into our courses, and providing real-world experiences to develop students as future business and community leaders.







Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for a 3-year fixed-term, annually renewable faculty position in Finance, Economics, and related Business disciplines, which will begin in January 2024. The standard teaching load is 22-24 credit hours per contract year, primarily covering the disciplines of finance and economics, with potential to include other related business disciplines such as Management, Sport Management, Marketing, and Accounting. Classes may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: Corporate Finance, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions, Advanced Financial Management, Portfolio Management, Professional Financial Planning, Sport Finance, and others based on strengths of the applicant. The position operates within the undergraduate Business and Communication Department in Winona, MN.







The successful candidate will possess a doctorate or master’s degree in finance, economics, or business and have significant academic and professional experience in the finance and economics disciplines. Candidates should possess knowledge and skills in learning strategies, instructional technology, and content delivery. Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is deeply committed to the success of our students. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following credentials and experience:



Doctorate in a related discipline from an accredited university is preferred.

MBA, Master’s in Accounting, Master’s in Finance or other related business master’s degree is required.

Professional license, such as a CFP, ChFC, CFA, or CFS is preferred.

Strong record of accomplishment in college-level teaching in a full-time or adjunct role.

Five or more years of finance, economics, or related business experience.

May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.
